Prize-giving ceremony held for the Ward No. 27 children's art competition
On August 22, 2026, a prize-giving ceremony for a children's art competition was held, organized by 'Paribartan-Khulna' and 'Poribesh Surokkha Mancho' (Environment Protection Forum), with the aim of transforming Ward No. 27 of the Khulna City Corporation into a model ward featuring proper waste management. Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam Manju, the Honorable Administrator of the Khulna City Corporation, attended the event as the chief guest. Special guests present included Mr. Md. Tariqul Islam, General Secretary of Khulna Press Club; Mr. Md. Moshiuzzaman, Chief Engineer of Khulna City Corporation; and Mr. Md. Anisur Rahman, Chief Waste Management Officer of Khulna City Corporation. The event was presided over by Mr. Advocate Kudrat-e-Khuda, President of Poribesh Surokkha Mancha, and moderated by Mr. M. Nazmul Azam David, Executive Director of Paribartan-Khulna. In his address, the chief guest urged the residents of Ward No. 27 to keep their surroundings clean and take measures to prevent dengue. He also expressed hope for organizing extensive awareness programs for mothers regarding proper waste management in the future and assured them of full cooperation from the KCC. Also present at the event were Mr. Md. Meshkat Ali, General Secretary of Ward No. 27 BNP; Mr. Mahbub Ullah Shamim; Mr. Nur Alam, Acting Secretary of the Ward No. 27 Bazar Committee; Md. Rabiul Islam Rabi, General Secretary of the Purba Baniakhamar Janakalyan Samiti; Md. Abdur Jabbar; Sheikh Abdul Gafur; Ekramul Karim; Mr. Hasan Mehedi Rizvi; and Ajanta Das and Marina Juthi, members of the Poribesh Surokkha Mancha. Khalilur Rahman Sumon; Advocate Jahangir Alam Siddiqui; Silvi Harun, Executive Member of Paribartan-Khulna; Mr. Md. Badhon Kabir, Founder and Director of ABC Kindergarten School; Ms. Irina Akter, Head Teacher of Haji Akman Shishu Shiksha Niketan; Mr. Bijoy Krishna Sarkar, Founder-Director of Ankur Vidyapith; and students and guardians from three schools. At the event, prizes were awarded to students from three kindergarten schools in Ward No. 27.
