With the aim of ensuring pure and safe food, a market inspection was organized at Mistripara Market—adjacent to Ward No. 27 of 'Paribartan-Khulna'—by the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (Khulna) and the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (Khulna). Mr. Walid Bin Habib, Assistant Director of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection; Mr. Mokhlesur Rahman, Food Safety Officer; and Mr. M. Nazmul Azam David, General Secretary of the Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB), Khulna, and Chief Executive of 'Paribartan-Khulna', participated in the inspection. The Acting Secretary of the market committee, Mr. Nur Alam, along with other committee members, was present on the occasion. During the market inspection, officials provided various guidelines—without imposing any fines—regarding the maintenance and display of updated price lists, the checking for expired products, and the replacement of meters that failed to provide accurate measurements. Subsequently, they advised the market committee members to monitor these matters. The market committee members expressed their gratitude to the inspection committee for not imposing any fines and voiced their commitment to rectifying their shortcomings. It is our expectation that this initiative will propel the 'Model Ward' development program one step further.
