4.Community engagement and grievance mitigation through CSR activities of KPCL
Reduce available community grievances through community development, Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR) approaches have to build community engagement effort among the targeted beneficiaries work together to solve identified social problems, reduce the poverty through skill development and sustainableenvironment. DEG Germany are financing jointly for implementing the program. Khulna Power Company Limited has financed to implement the project at Ward-7 of the Khulna City Corporation. The area was divided into eight zones for the purpose of implementing the program according to the residential areas of the affected community and their vulnerability. The most heavily affected area is North Kashipur, which contains six zones; the other two zones are situated on the opposite side of the Bhairab River.Vulnerable people of 7 no Ward people of Uttar Kashipur, Khulna. Those who are really fighting against access of primary education, knowledge of primary health, and social awareness. In this circumstance the below mentioned the activities are implemented in the targeted areas. General Training of Tailoring, Professional IT Skill Development Training, Educational support, National and International day observation, Awareness campaign on child abuse, Drug abuse, Tuberculosis, Family Planning, Health & Nutrition, Brest cancer, Adolescent Care, conservation of Waste Management at household’s level and community based plantation. CSR program of KPCL and PARIBARTAN- Khulna has created a massive impact on the local community, community people now started to believe that, they can live in a decent way, they can educate their children and clean their house and community premises, they are going to doctor for their common and critical treatments.
