6.Biodiversity Conservation in Sundarbans through Eco-Tourism
PARIBARTAN-Khulna worked at Laudobe, Baniasanta, Kailashgonj Unions, Dacope upazila of Khulna District to improve the conservation system of Sundarban supported by the community and other relevant stakeholders like the forest department, local government, tour operators, visitors, knowledge institutes Schools & universities, research centers, and media. The project will establish chain alternative livelihood activities that promote ecotourism and Sundarban conservation. The project goal is to operationally contribute two components one is directly related to eco-tourism and the other is an independent component. The independent component is mainly based on an innovative livelihood approach. Implementing Alumni members’ organization partnership with Rupantar eco-tourism, Bangladesh Youth Environmental Initiative (BYEI) Education and Cultural Society (ECS) helped to use eco-tourism principles in Sundarban conservation.
